01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Tucked away along a quiet street near the east exit of Kita-Senju Station, Sakazuki Lab (さかづきlab) brings together a varied lineup of craft beers, thoughtfully curated sake, and inventive Japanese drinking snacks. The atmosphere inside is unpretentious and relaxed, making it just as pleasant to drop in by yourself for an unhurried drink as it is to settle in for an evening.

Inventive Draft Beers and Chilled Regional Sake

The taps pour an imaginative range of brews, including "Pony no Na wa Paron," a saison brewed with domestic barley, "Adachi Hime - Akiakari," an herbal beer accented with the aroma and gentle astringency of Sayama tea, and the citrus-scented "Tsuki Usagi." Diners can also opt for classic Czech-inspired options like "Shy Girl" or a mellow, double-poured Asahi Maruef, offering plenty of freedom to match a glass to your mood. Sake enthusiasts will find just as much to explore among the chilled bottles, which feature regional junmai ginjo and kimoto selections such as Aizu Miyaizumi, Shiro Bakuren, Fukucho, and Suwaizumi.

Japanese Dishes Built for Drinking

The food menu complements the drinks with an array of Japanese-inspired plates prepared with careful touches. You might begin lightly with seared bacon potato salad or prosciutto and persimmon shiraae, then move on to richer flavors like scallop, eggplant, and avocado sautéed with fermented fish innards (shuto), or a salmon-and-ikura namero tartare. Fried specialties include fragrant shiba shrimp karaage and crisp aji fry accompanied by piquant wasabi tartar sauce, both tailored to cut cleanly through a cold beer or chilled cup of sake.

It opens from 17:00 Wednesday through Friday and from 13:00 on weekends; it is closed Monday and Tuesday. When you want to sit back in a calm neighborhood room over a fresh pour from the tap or a glass of chilled sake, it stands out as an inviting stop.
